Yesterday a Thrasher parent ate the Spicebush swallowtail progeny on the bushes that we grow specifically to breed Spicebush babies. It breaks my heart and now I know why butterfly people remove the caterpillars and chrysalis when they see them and put them into protective screened containers.

Last year, pretty sure it was mockingbirds that wiped out all of the tiger swallowtail caterpillars on my parsley. I only grow parsley for the butterflies.

Sorry about the mockingbirds wiped them out! I'm missing the gulf frits, too!
