Description	Barn Owl Fledgling, taken in my yard in Crest, near El Cajon, CA. I saw it trying to fly back to the nesting box about 8:30 am. Upon approach, it struck this defensive pose. We had a total of 4 chicks. That year we had no mice, or gophers on our property. The following year one owl (parent ?) returned, but left after the other (mate) did not.
